The students have been working very hard and deserve a much needed break.  This month through exploring ancient civilizations we will be discussing the difference between continuity and change.  Although change can be difficult at first, it is often good for us.  Why is it important to consider the value of money?  How do we make sure we are responsible with money?  Why does being responsible with money matter to not only us but society? 

There are many things in the natural environment that inspire our use of mathematics and the students are encouraged this month to reflect on the all that we have learned this year and brainstorm answers to the question:  “Why does math matter?”
